ECOSTUDIES INSTITUTE
ECOSTUDIES INSTITUTE
WELCOME to Ecostudies Institute's home on the web.
We are an organization that addresses pressing problems in the conservation of plants, animals,
and their habitats.  For the last 10 years, we have done so through a program of sound science,
on-the-ground management, and education and outreach.  We work independently and
collaboratively with other dedicated conservation organizations and agencies.  In this effort, we
often focus on birds because they are exceptional indicators of overall environmental health and
integrity and because they often respond rapidly to environmental changes.
We are based in a small town on the Skagit River Delta just north of Seattle, Washington, with
field offices in south Florida and central Vermont.  Our conservation focus is broad, spanning local,
regional and international boundaries, and our experiences working and living in many
environments enables us to bring a fresh perspective to both new and old conservation issues.  In
the pages that follow, you can learn more about what we do and who we are.
