Our mission is to improve the understanding of ecological systems and the species that inhabit them
and to promote conservation, management, and restoration efforts that protect and maintain native
biodiversity. We accomplish this mission through sound scientific research and the dissemination of
research results in a non-discriminatory manner. Visit our conservation and research program to see
the projects we are working on.

How we are supported: Ecostudies Institute obtains funding to support its projects from a number of
sources. Primary funding is through grants from public organizations such as state and federal
agencies. We also seek to obtain funding from private sources such as foundations, non-profit
conservation organizations, corporations, and individuals.
Ecostudies Institute was established in 2001 as a
non-profit, scientific organization under Internal
Revenue Service designation 501(c)(3). As a
public charity, we perform work in the public's
interest, either independently or through
partnerships with other conservation-minded
organizations. Visit our personnel page to get
more information about who we are.
