Energy Development

•        Our scientists work to identify and minimize the impacts of renewable-energy development
throughout the northeastern United States

Surface Transportation Infrastructure

•        In addition to our general research on Road Ecology (link), scientists at Ecostudies Institute have
analyzed the impacts of numerous road maintenance and construction projects, ranging from small
bridge replacements to large-footprint reconstructions.

Post-construction Compliance Monitoring

•        Ecostudies Institute has extensive experience in the design and analysis of monitoring studies to
ensure that construction projects comply with permit requirements, especially those mandated by the
Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
At Ecostudies Institute, we take a rigorous
approach to environmental impact assessment,
using our years of field experience and
cutting-edge analytical approaches to produce
reliable conclusions.  We treat impact assessment
the same way that we treat all of our ecological
research: answer the question by applying science
of the highest quality.  We identify potential
problems before they arise, and help develop
creative solutions that minimize effects to the
environment, meet the needs of affected
communities, and satisfy regulatory agencies, all
while ensuring that project goals are met.
Our scientists have experience working to provide analyses mandated under a variety of environmental
statutes, including the National Environmental Policy Act; the Endangered Species Act, especially Section
7; and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.  We work with clients in both the private and public sectors, and
have special experience in the following areas:
