Puget Sound Shorebird Count

The Puget Sound Shorebird Count is a citizen-science based survey coordinated by Ecostudies Institute and partners, with the goal of monitoring winter shorebird populations In Puget Sound. Surveys are conducted in Nov.-Dec. The project also contributes to a flyway-wide monitoring effort called the Pacific Flyway Shorebird Survey.

Investigating effects of estuarine restoration on birds

The goal of this project is to improve the use of bird monitoring as a means for evaluating the effect of estuarine restoration projects in the Pacific Northwest. Estuarine restoration is an important conservation action in the region. Most restoration is conducted for salmon recovery, yet likely has significant impacts for birds too.
